11. Falling Water, Pennsylvania

Perhaps the most famous house in the United States (or second-famous, after that one at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue) sits atop a waterfall atop a hill. The view from the top lets you see the surrounding Allegheny Mountains as well as the outflow to the Youghiogheny River.
