5. Dump your photos regularly, if not nightly.
Upload them onto your laptop in the hotel room, or send them to a cloud storage service like Dropbox. This is a good step to preserve your photos in case something happens to your camera or data card. This also potentially frees up space on your card in case you need to delete a bunch of images fast.
