9. Bring a back-up of everything.
Since cameras are mechanical devices, there are plenty of ways things can go wrong, from physical trauma to electronic problems like malfunctioning software. So a spare camera, a spare card and spare batteries can make a big difference between patting yourself on the back or kicking yourself in the backside. Though it’s easy to say, “I can get it repaired or new batteries anytime,” your camera may go south in the evening or when you’re far from a repair facility or a gift shop.
