5. Astoria-Megler Bridge, Oregon and Washington, U.S.
This architectural gem is North America’s longest steel-truss bridge. In total it has a 4.1-mile span, which was completed in 1966. The bridge features three sections, one of which appears to float on the Columbia River. The two-lane bridge can impressively resist wind gusts of up to 150 miles per hour.
