9. Millau Viaduct, France

Opened to the public in 2004, this bridge spans a southern portion of France’s River Tarn. The highest of the bridge’s towers is an impressive 11 stories. The sleek, and esthetically pleasing, cable-stayed construction perfectly aligns seven giant masts across an expanse of the pristine river valley.
