Estimated as the most expensive painting in the world, this creation by Jackson Pollock was purchased for $148.1 million in 2006 by David Martinez. Pollock originally sold the painting back in 1948 through the Parson Gallery for $1,500. Pollock died at the age of 43 after a short but memorable artistic career.
